Is anyone gonna pick this one up?

I've been getting really tired of the whole deathmatch style of COD. Unlike COD, BC2 (or any other battlefield game) makes you feel like you're actually on a battlefield fighting with multiple squads. This is what drew me in to buying the first Bad Company, and from the demo I played, DICE only improved everything from the first one with BC2.

Now, I wasn't a big fan of the single player campaign on the first one, and I doubt I'll play the single player much on the second one either. To me, Battlefield is only good for its multiplayer.

I'm getting it on 360. Hit me up if you guys are getting so we can play.

I hear single player is 6ish hours again, but who plays BC for single player?

I'll be picking it up whenever it makes its way to the top of my goozex list, I'm something like 86th place in line :P Will hit you up as soon as I get it

The game is in dire need of optimisation. Yes the controls are pretty awful. My wrist aches when playing this game. I only get this when playing poor mouse control movement in games. I've had to tweak this mouse sensitivity & the X.Y more than I should thus wasting time. It doesn't feel like the rest of the BF Franchise. When 2142 was out, that was optimised from the word go. Wtf's QA & in house beta testers doing these days? The game itself looks quite stunning, but I've seen similar styles playing better on my system.

This could be due to the fact that the game was first made for consoles. However, it's still surprising they butchered the controls for the PC. The controls on the 360 version aren't bad, they're just different.

I'm one of the people who rent/buy games for the single player components. You can pretty much pick up any game with a gun and become a gun for hire online. I want a storyline even though they tend to be very poor or make any logical sense, like the gold in BC1. I liked Gears of War for the story and the characters and not so much for the online chainsaw massacre it turned out to be; any monkey can shoot a gun when the crossfire lights up red or through a grenade against a wall. Halo's laser swords were such a hack.

The reason why a lot of games have a strong multiplayer is for Ads and the software companies selling space in order to generate additional funds after game sales. If anyone can remember how 2142 had in-game ads plastered throughout maps you can surely understand this process.

May I ask how goozex works? Is it a game trading site? I've used a site called gametz.com and traded a few games there, but it never seemed worth the money because I had to pay shipping.

Yus, game trading. I has to pay shipping as well to trade them out for points that I can spend on w/e. I don't like trading 100 point games because I don't think its worth it, but anything else is usually ok by me.

Yeah, there was like a span of one or two days where I kept getting disconnected from the servers. I probably lost around 10,000 points in total because of it.

Ah, OK. Does it have a big following? Previously, you said you're 86th in line to get bfbc2. How long would that take till you get it?

A few weeks I would think. The site says I'm 70th now, but only 56 of those 70 are "active", so technically 56th place. The game has only been physically traded 6 times now since March 4th, so I guess it's getting there....

As for numbers, says theres about 4900 trades going on right now. Some games move faster than others of course, but you can definitely catch a great deal out there.

Thanks for the info, Elfy. I'll be sure to keep that site in mind from now on.

As for BF:BC2, I'm still loving it. The level up system in it is far better than COD's.

What I like is the fact that you need to do challenges and earn insignias. Its hard to level and the skill gap can be enormous. Also if you havent tried Final Fantasy XIII its orgasmic!

I was thinking about picking up FF XIII, but I think I'll wait till the summer, so I have more free time. :) Seems like you'll be sinking countless hours into the game.

so i rented Bad company two and completed it. The story is very simple and very predictable. The controls are shit and i think i generally don't like the game; i think they ruined the entire campaign storyline for me and the gameplay.

Furthermore, online play is very enjoyable and i really like how multiplayer plays out with the vehicles and how the game is generally played.

In all i prefer MW2 for single player campaign but i prefer BC2 online.

Cow, in case you haven't seen me online, I have had BF2 for a week or two now! Should try and fit a few games in around all the time spent on SC2 and Red Dead Redemption :P

Yeah, I've been a tad busy with graduation stuff. I've only been playing COD late at night. For some reason, I want to hit level 70 (I think I'm almost there...level 64 or so, lol). Since schools completely over now, I should be on more often. I'll be sure to get on bf2 and play a few rounds with you.

Thread is a little dead, I know. But I recently just got this game from a friend and want to see if anyone here still plays at all on XBL.

If so, feel free to add/message me.
